Zombie Noir is a stylish game for Java phones in which you need to solve a murder case in a town overrun by zombies.
You play the role of Morte, a mortuary worker in a town that's become overrun with zombies, or 'Husks' as they're known in Zombie Noir. Morte discovers that his ex-girlfriend and his boss have both been murdered and sets about trying to solve the case, despite being warned against doing so by the police commissioner.
What ensues in Zombie Noir is a mixture of zombie shooting, problem solving and exploration in a game that is part third-person shooter, part RPG and part murder mystery. It all adds up to a gripping experience that plays out like a film noir movie - albeit a very pixelated one.
Although the graphics are very simplistic, it doesn't really detract from Zombie Noir's tense gameplay. The game is challenging to say the least, and we even struggled on the easiest of the three difficulty levels.
If you're looking for a different kind of shoot 'em up for your mobile phone, Zombie Noir is well worth checking out.
